Teamsters and America's Youth

Service-Learning Really Works

Teamsters can and should connect with young people. We can interact with young people on any number of levels. Some Teamster leaders give presentations to high school students. Others sponsor scholarships, debates or career days. Your local can support service learning activities. For example, you can help young people earn Girl Scout badges on topics related to labor and Teamsters community service projects.

You, too, can support service projects that have already been developed or offered by the schools. The sky's the limit. Why does service learning work? How does service learning have an impact on young people? See what the experts have to say (links to the Learning-In-Deed website):
