The Roadmap is designed to give Local Unions and Joint Councils direction and information on how to go about beginning or expanding school-to-work programs or activities in their communities.

The Roadmap is divided into three sections:

• Part I: Getting Started
• Part II: Suggested Activities (see below)
• Part III: Teamster School-to-Work Award Sites (see Effective School-to-Work Practices)

In addition, a Glossary has been included to help locals become familiar with popular terms and basic concepts associated with the School-to-Work Opportunities Act.

This section demonstrates three specific ways Local affiliates can get involved in school to work activities:

• Working to Create State and Local School-To-Work Systems
